Introducing the Owner
Kia ora, I’m Anette, the owner and centre manager of Wise Owl Early Learning Centre.
Wise Owl has been created with one clear goal in mind — to offer children a calm, nurturing place where they feel safe, truly known, and free to grow into confident learners in their own time.
I believe the early years should be treasured. Childhood shouldn’t feel rushed, pressured, or over-directed. Instead, tamariki deserve the time and space to explore, wonder, make sense of the world, and build their own confidence through meaningful play and real relationships.
At Wise Owl, my team and I are intentional about the environments we create. We carefully set up pockets of play that invite children to think, create, problem-solve, and connect with others — while we guide and extend their learning gently through conversation, encouragement, and thoughtful teaching.
I’m incredibly proud of the way Wise Owl children transition to school. The feedback we often receive is that they stand out for their confidence, early literacy and numeracy foundations, social skills, and love of learning — and that’s exactly what we aim for: children who are ready for school, but also ready for life.
Thank you for considering Wise Owl. We feel privileged to walk alongside families during such an important season, and we would love to welcome you in and show you what makes our centre so special.

Nourishment
Nourishment of body
We provide nutritious homely meals, all made at Wise Owl fresh daily. Our kitchen is the heart of our centre. Our rituals include self care, coming together as a group and meal times. Our change and meal times are unhurried and valued as a special time to bond and share.
Nourishment of mind
We encourage interest in learning – predicting – planning – spontaneous ideas – positive self esteem. Routines and rituals help us to know and understand about times when we need to do certain things.
We have clear boundaries.
We support self regulation and social competence
Nourishment of soul and spirit
At Wise Owl we encourage children to be themselves and love themselves.
To enjoy life and celebrate each day.
